Questions

Frequently asked.

A handful of the questions I'm asked most often. If something here doesn't quite answer yours, please write — I'd rather we begin with a conversation than a form.

Beginnings

Working with an advisor

  1. 01

Why should I work with a travel advisor?

A good advisor saves you time, spares you stress, and quietly opens doors. You gain expert guidance, a personal point of contact, and insider access to perks and amenities reserved for our clients. Whether you're choosing between destinations or navigating something unexpected on the road, I'm here to make the entire experience feel effortless.

  2. 02

I like to plan my own trip — why would I work with an advisor?

Wonderful — plan it your way, then bring me in at the end. I'll book your hotels with VIP perks attached, at no additional cost to you. Simply fill out the complimentary hotel bookings form and I'll take it from there.

  3. 03

How do I know if you're the right advisor for me?

I encourage every potential client to schedule an introductory consultation. We'll talk through your travel preferences, budget, and anything specific you have in mind — it's the simplest way to see whether my style and approach are the right fit. Travel is deeply personal, and I'd rather we begin honestly.

After traveling to over 90 countries, I've built a deep well of first-hand experience to draw from. A luxury safari in Africa, the Great Pyramids, Angkor Wat, an overnight trek in Patagonia, a slow summer through Europe — chances are I've been there and can help you decide whether it's right for you. And if I haven't been yet, it's likely already on my list, which means I've done the research. Beyond my own travels, I have trusted partners around the world who share their local insight with me, so my recommendations always reflect the latest on the ground.

My background as an M&A attorney left me with a serious eye for detail. I read the fine print so you don't have to — nothing important slips through.

The Process

How planning unfolds

  1. 01

How does the planning process work?

Step one. Fill out the inquiry form.Step two. I'll schedule a 30-minute video call to hear your vision and walk you through how I work. This conversation matters — it's how we decide if we're a good fit.Step three. Once we agree to work together, I begin shaping a personalized itinerary — accommodations, experiences, and transportation. We'll stay in close conversation throughout, refining as we go.Step four. We book and finalize the itinerary. Roughly two months before departure, we'll lock in dining and spa reservations (full itinerary planning only).Step five. Two weeks out, I'll share your itinerary via an app you can carry with you, and we'll have a pre-departure call to go over the details, share a few reminders, and answer any lingering questions.Step six. Relax and enjoy your trip.

  2. 02

How much does it cost to work with a travel advisor?

My fees vary with the complexity of the trip and the scope of services involved. Everything is discussed openly during our initial consultation, so there are no surprises. Full-service travel planning begins at $500 per week of travel, for up to four travelers.

  3. 03

How far in advance should I plan?

For a fully designed itinerary, three to six months is ideal — longer for safaris, expedition cruises, or peak-season Europe. That said, shorter timelines are welcome when my calendar allows; please reach out and we'll see what's possible.

The Experience

What I can plan

  1. 01

What kinds of trips do you plan?

Honeymoons, milestone anniversaries, multi-generational gatherings, quiet solo escapes, and the occasional spontaneous long weekend. The common thread is intention — every trip is designed around the people traveling, not a template.

  2. 02

Can you help with last-minute travel plans?

Yes. I always recommend planning ahead — it secures the best hotels, the best flights, and the best rates — but I'm well-versed in last-minute requests and will do everything I can to create something memorable on a shorter runway. A small rush fee of $150 applies to expedited bookings.

  3. 03

Can you help with group travel?

Absolutely. From planning the experience to coordinating logistics, I'll make sure every traveler feels looked after. An advisor is especially valuable for group trips, where competing preferences and budgets often need a gentle, organized hand.

  4. 04

    Can you book private jets?

    Yes.

The Details

Partners & limitations

  1. 01

    Who are your preferred partners?

Liv to Travel is an independent affiliate of Departure Lounge, a Virtuoso agency. That affiliation opens access to the Virtuoso network — hundreds of hotels, cruise lines, and on-the-ground partners offering benefits reserved for clients of advisors like me.

  2. 02

Is there anything an advisor cannot do?

Airbnb & VRBO. I'm unable to book clients at Airbnb or VRBO properties. Instead, I work with partners who offer thoroughly vetted villas and home rentals, so you're cared for and supported throughout your stay.
Points. You'll continue to earn credit card and hotel loyalty points (Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, and the like) on bookings I make, but I'm not able to redeem points on your behalf. I can attach frequent flier numbers to your flight bookings so you keep accruing miles with the airlines.
